Call to Action
Just what is a Call to Action and why are they really important?
A call to action (CTA) is really what is says in the name - you are telling your audience what you would like them to do. If you look down your favourite shopping website you will see lots of CTAs - add to basket, buy now, read reviews to name a few.
So my question to you is: do you use a Call to Action in your social media posts? Using them in social media can help drive traffic to your website, it can get your brand out there for people to see and it can really help boost your business.
A couple of CTAs I commonly use are a Save this Post and a Share this Post graphic in the corner of my image. For me I want people to remember me as a graphic and website designer and when they need my services to use me. Save this Post helps with this as it prompts my audience to save the post so they have my contact details when they do need my services. Share this Post also works well as if people share my post to their friends it helps my gain new clients.
Another good place to use a Call to Action is at the end of your post. Always ask yourself when you create a post “what do I want my audience to do after reading?” Then use this as your Call to Action. You might be launching a new product so you would put a CTA directing people to your website where your new product is listed. You might also want to boost your social media following so a simple Share this Post CTA will encourage people to share.
CTAs come in so many different guises these days so try to think outside the box. QR codes with a CTA are a really powerful tool. Don’t just put a QR code on something without telling people what they need to do. Add a simple “Scan Me” or "Visit my Website” and you have much more chance of driving website traffic.
So whatever you do just remember the Call to Action, and don’t forget to Save this Post (my Call to Action) so you can refer back to it later. If you’d like to share this post so that lots of your friends can also see it I’d by very grateful.
